Education will continue to be provided in the form of distant learning until 26th June, the start of the summer holidays, the Minister of National Education, Dariusz Piontkowski informed the nation.
When will children return to school?
The minister of Education added: “pupils would normally have a few days in June free, due to the Matura exams and the Corpus Christi national holiday - in our opinion there would be no purpose in returning normal to lessons for such a short period of time. We do however hope this will be possible in September” he added.
The minister of Education added: “In preparing recruitment for the new school year, we hope it will prepare children for returning to education in traditional form in September”.
Regarding final grades:
“June 1st is a day in which we wish all children the very best… as a result, final grades should be a result of how the children progressed throughout the whole year and not just how they coped during the pandemic”.
“Teachers should be fair and objective in giving grades, not only assess the child’s knowledge and skills but also their effort and work throughout the school year”.
On Friday MEN published new regulations, which will be obligatory during the organisation of holidays for children. Attention was focused on introducing procedures to minimize the risk of Coronavirus infection by introducing new safety measures.
"The current pandemic developments in Poland allow us to confirm that holidays for children can take place if sanitary measures are taken very seriously. It is however import to remember that the situation is dynamic and could suddenly change”.

During a press conference today, the government announced the next stage of guidelines for reopening the economy.
From 4th of May:
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki:
Reducing restrictions is the result for the need to reopen the economy, but we have to act carefully and be flexible. Sometimes it may be necessary to adjust the restrictions due to the character of the virus.
Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski:
Today we have the information that more and more people are recovering and less people are being infected. Unfortunately, we see people walking on the streets without masks. This is not courage, this is disregarding others and being egoistic.
Rules about distance from social contact with each other still remain – 2 meters between people in public places.
The next stage of reducing restrictions should be announced within the next 2 weeks.
The government mentioned that in a few days they may announce if certain schools will be able to reopen to provide basic child care for young children.

An auction has been announced for the reconstruction of Górnośląska Street. This is the first of the projects implemented as part of the modernization of road access to the port of Szczecin and reconstruction of roads in Międzyodrze. Górnośląska Street is located on the right bank of the Puck Island (east of the city center). It is located in the area between the Górnośląskie Basin, Górniczy Basin (Kaszubski) and the Parnica River. Serves mainly investment areas. From the south it has a connection with the road servicing DK10, i.e. Gdansk.
The investment includes:
The reconstruction of the road system in Międzyodrze is one of the largest transport investments that will be implemented in Szczecin in the coming years. The project aims to improve traffic safety and organization, and provide communication services for the Szczecin port.
As part of the task, the following will be modernized: streets: Gdańska, Energetyków, Górnośląska. The road layout at Łasztownia will also change, which will be connected to the Kłodny Bridge with the Wieleckie Quay. The new crossing will be located near the Castle Route, connecting the City Center with the area of the revitalized Łasztownia. It will be a cable-stayed structure with a pylon about 100 meters high and 24 cables supporting the platform. Pedestrians, cyclists, cars and trams will move on the bridge. The design should also mean excellent navigability.
More on this topic to be announced.
Just 500 meters from Lake Dąbie, a housing estate is built, built by TBS Prawobrzeże. Only a few months are left to the end of the investment. Almost all the apartments have already been rented. The interest in the new housing estate is high. There are only 21 free apartments left out of 184 that are being built as part of the investment. The housing estate's advantage will certainly be the proximity of Lake Dąbie, the swimming pool and the city beach only 500 meters away from the apartments (the swimming pool will be modernized in the near future).
In addition, nearby there is, among others a nursery, kindergarten and elementary school. - Works are carried out according to the schedule - informs Tomasz Klek, the city's spokesperson for housing. - Six buildings are being built, and construction works on each of them are already very advanced. Currently, cladding and floors are being carried out, tiling and painting works inside buildings and in staircases. Roofing, facade and land development works are being carried out. Road works at ul. Masztowa, started at ul. Officers.
The estate is being built on solid foundations. Due to its location, more than 700 poles were driven into the ground to a depth of 5 and 6 meters (their total length is over 3.5 km). Only then began the construction of the main part of the estate. The apartment will be turnkey finished. That is, practically reay to live in, the residents will only have to provide furniture. In the rooms - modern carpets, in bathrooms - terracotta and ceramic tiles, sinks, bathtubs, washbasins, sanitary fittings, new window and door joinery, etc. Ground floor apartments will have access to home gardens. Premises for the disabled are provided. The area around the buildings will be comprehensively developed. As part of the investment, it is planned to make side-walks, alleys, benches, playgrounds and parking spaces, among others.
